Robert L. Witek, II, Esquire has been actively engaged in the general practice of law for more than 30 years in the City of Long Branch, first as an associate and then as a partner with the Law Firm of Resnikoff, Resnikoff & Witek. Bob as he prefers to be called, began his legal career as a Summer Intern in the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office in 1989. Thereafter, he was privileged to serve a Judicial Clerkship working with the Honorable Paul F. Chaiet, JSC in Freehold, New Jersey. Upon completion of his Clerkship, Bob entered private practice with the Resnikoff firm, attaining the position of partner in 2001. In September of 2024, Bob founded The Law Offices of Robert L. Witek, II, Esq., LLC, where he is the principal and will continue his general practice of law.
In 1988, Bob graduated Cum Laude from Montclair State College where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature. Then in 1991 Bob received his Juris Doctor from what was then known as Franklin Pierce Law Center, now known as The University of New Hampshire School of Law. Bob’s legal experience is vast and varied and his practice runs the gamut from Accidents to Zoning. Having tried many cases to verdict Bob focuses primarily on Personal Injury matters but he has also tried cases in the Family, Criminal and Chancery Divisions of the New Jersey Superior Court. In addition to an active litigation practice, Bob has handled countless real estate transactions, representing buyers as well as sellers in both the Residential and Commercial contexts. Bob appears regularly in municipal courts throughout Monmouth, Ocean and Middlesex Counties, has served as the West Long Branch Municipal Prosecutor, is an active member of the Monmouth County Bar Association, and is a member of a number of committees within that organization.
Bob’s approach to the practice of law is based upon his belief that every person, regardless of age, status, sex, gender, race, or orientation is entitled to the same degree of competent, compassionate, reasonable, fair, thoughtful and courteous representation in every context. He believes that it is possible to be aggressive without being obnoxious and that it is always critical to focus on the principle that one can disagree without being disagreeable. Bob prides himself on the fact that throughout his three decades of practice, he has striven to provide meaningful access to the legal process and court system to people who might not always necessarily have such access. In his spare time, Bob enjoys badly playing Neil Young songs on his guitar, experimenting with his culinary art skills, listening to the Grateful Dead, and sharing time with his family, including four cats and a hound dog named Clyde. Bob also has been known to refer to himself as “a lawyer you can trust and maybe even like” from time to time.
If your legal needs require a lawyer who will approach your legal issue with common sense, humility and as a problem solver as opposed to a problem creator, call, fax, write, carrier pigeon, or smoke signal. Bob and his team are ready, willing and able to serve your needs to the best of their ability.
